A digital platform for Atienza
atienza.info brings together in one place the village's heritage, its living calendar, La Caballada, the UNESCO Sweet & Salt Landscape candidacy and local businesses.
A platform of territory, not a blog
atienza.info is a digital platform for the medieval village of Atienza (Guadalajara, Castilla-La Mancha). It gathers everything a visitor or a resident might need in one place: the entries for the 15 monuments of the historic complex, the four open museums, the full annual calendar, the schedule of La Caballada, the directory of restaurants and lodgings, links to official sites and a growing body of editorial articles.
It does not replace the official sites —the Town Hall, the Tourism Office, the Provincial Council of Guadalajara and the Castilla-La Mancha Government have their own channels—. It complements them with an editorial proposition and a structure designed for the modern web: fast on mobile, accessible, multilingual and open.
Where each datum comes from
- Heritage and monuments: Turismo Atienza, Provincial Council of Guadalajara and specialised bibliography on Atienza Romanesque.
- La Caballada: Brotherhood of the Holy Trinity of Atienza and documentation preserved since 1679.
- UNESCO candidacy: Castilla-La Mancha cultural portal and VisitaSigüenza.
- Restaurant and lodging directories: data verified with each business.
- Photography: Wikimedia Commons (free licences) and contributions from the village.
How it is kept up to date
Each monument entry includes a review date. Opening hours and contact data are checked against official sources before each deploy. The business directory is updated after a direct call to the establishment. When information is pending confirmation, it is stated explicitly.
The platform's code and architecture are open: the site is built with Next.js, deployed on Vercel and served from atienza.info, with its own domain and SSL certificate managed by the provider.
