Atienza is a medieval village in the Sierra Norte of Guadalajara, Castilla-La Mancha (Spain), about 135 km from Madrid via the A-2 and CM-1101 roads.
The essential walk covers the Plaza del Trigo, the church of San Juan, the rock Castle, the Trinity and San Bartolomé museums, and the walls and Arrebatacapas Arch.
La Caballada takes place every Pentecost Sunday. It is a Festival of National Tourist Interest and commemorates the escape of the boy king Alfonso VIII in 1162.
